A Word From Your Executive Director

Yes, we as an Association work together with God. We work with our churches to help them be better equipped for the ministry God has called them to do. This month and specifically May 20-27 is Associational Week. So, celebrate your own St. Johns River Baptist Association by praying for me and my family along with Barry and his family and the things we do to reach into our churches and pastors lives to help them be better servants of Jesus. The scripture tells us, “behold now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” Many lost people are waiting to hear the Lord Jesus loves them. We must spur each other along on this task. Your association has helped in this way as you see by the pictures on the front and the quotes from some of our pastors/laymen on the back. We work with teams consisting of volunteers. We have 34 volunteers who work either on the Leader Advancement Team (training ministerial leaders), the Missions and Evangelism Team (providing scholarships, church start funds, EV trailer, turkey giveaway, EV training, builder projects, help to service centers in our area (5), and free medical/dental clinic support). We are involved in outreaches on the beach, St. Augustine, on the river, at fairs, just anywhere we can gather some of our church members to go after the lost. We also have a Church Advancement Team (provides help for youth groups, children’s ministry, deacon training, treasurer and IRS training along with children workers training). We also have the Administrative Team that deals with financial part of the Association, (we are giving at record levels), coordination of calendar events, personnel issues and directing the overall work of the Association. We are truly workers together with God. Thank you for the privilege to work and serve among you our churches. I get the privilege of serving in many capacities as your representative. Preaching, consulting, witnessing, sharing your burdens, hospital visits, trainings, and just showing up (some say to eat) are a few things I do. This includes both on a local level as missionary to churches which takes on many roles and on a national level (being on the Executive Team of the SBCAL National Associational Leaders), on State Board of Missions here in Florida and as Alumni Vice President for New Orleans Seminary in Florida. It is a joy to serve as an extension of your church. I am available for Deacon Ordination, Supply Preaching, Witness Training, VBS work. Just call on me and I would love to be in your church helping for God’s glory.

Verse of the day

“For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you.” (1 Peter 1:24-25)  listen to chapter  (Read by Max McLean.
