A Word From Your Executive Director

“Moreover, as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way: Only fear the Lord and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.” 1 Sam. 12:23-24

What a joy it is for me to pray for the Pastors/Staff and Churches. God gives me the opportunity to lift many of you before the throne. I believe as the scripture says we are obligated to pray for our leaders and members in our churches. My wife takes this very serious for our staff at Anastasia Baptist Church, praying special scriptures for them daily. We all need to do this for our leaders. They are great men and women of God who are called to serve. We sin against God when we do not pray for them. So, as you read this stop for a few minutes and pray for your Pastor/Leaders at your church.

These are exciting days in your association. God is doing so much among us. We had a great time worshiping together at Welaka FBC. We heard from our Florida Baptist Convention Regional Leader Dr. Craig Culbreath. We had great music lead by Barry Spence and Jeannie Brown. We voted on some strong statements concerning Sexual Abuse that is found in churches and will treat this as straight forward as we can. If your church or anyone in your church harbors or does not follow the letter of the law in accusations of Sexual abuse, there will be consequences of rejection from this Association. We also took a stand on Abortion and claimed a day of mourning for the unborn thanks to a challenge from Tommy Munsey and Pastor Pat Heuer from Flagler West Community Church. We also heard a challenge to find "Your One" to begin influencing for Jesus Christ and leading them to faith and disciple them. These are challenging days and we must be on our faces before God to meet the challenge of this world.
We just finished a Treasurer Tax Update for our churches. We had a great time together and 12 or our churches sent representatives to this event. We had the opportunity to do individual consulting with the tax expert too. He answered many questions and even came and met a church at 8:30am Sunday to help them. We are here to help you better serve the Lord Jesus and the community.
The Putnam Co. Fair is coming, and we are building our booth again there. We have a few places available for you to serve and promote your church. The association will provide up to 4 Tickets a day for this ministry opportunity. Come out and share the gospel at the fair. In years past we have led many people to Jesus right there.
The dates are March 22-30.
God has done many things for Lydia and I in the last 6 months. Her accident and being laid up for 4 months and then subsequent surgery for a knee replacement have brought us to our knees before almighty God. He alone holds life in His hands. He calls us to trust him and to prove Him. This comes through prayer. I have seen him do specific miracles in this journey. Lydia continues to heal, and your prayers have been a great blessing. She is hard at work as the Director of Women’s Refuge of St. Johns Co. where there has been two young women saved. She has been pouring the Bible into them in the midst of her sickness.
The journey is long and hard, and we need each other. So, pray for one another. Pray for us, and pray God will continue to bless the St. Johns River Baptist Association Churches.
Call me if you need anything!

Verse of the day

“For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you.” (1 Peter 1:24-25)  listen to chapter  (Read by Max McLean.
