A Word From Your Executive Director

Jeremiah 29:12-13 says: Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

“We sense a dangerous disease infecting our modern culture and eroding hope: an increasingly prevalent view that greatness owes more to circumstance, even luck, that to action and discipline-that what happens to us matters more than what we do.” (Quotes from the book: Great by Choice by Jim Colins page 161.)

Do we really believe our actions count for little?Do we want to build a church culture that encourages us to believe that we aren’t responsible for our choices and accountable for our performance? Do you really hear what he is saying? How is your church being built? Are you without hope as you look to the future of your church? Are you asking the same old questions this year as last? Or maybe you are making the same old statements: “We just need more young people, we are all old and getting tired.” “If we just had a little bit of that new-fangled music we would attract the young crowd.” None of these are true!!! The crowd that goes after the contemporary music is 40 to 60 years old? That is according to a recent Barna study of church music. I fit in that age bracket and I enjoy that “new fangled music”. So, what will it take. ACTION and DISCIPLINE is what it will take. Discipline to read the Word daily and help someone else do the same. Action that leads someone to Jesus and you help them lead someone to Jesus. Action of getting out of your comfortable pews and air-conditioned (heat of late) sanctuaries and serving the down and out, the needy, the hopeless by giving them the life changing message of Jesus. You are never too old to lead someone to faith in Jesus.

We have just the training for you too. Starting on January 13 at 707 Laurel St. Palatka 32177 at 9am you can have this training. Lunch is provided as Al Kaidor comes and leads you in some simple Evangelism tools. Action, get out and come get trained and that day go use your training to lead someone to Jesus. Ladies get ready for another fantastic event. Lydia is cooking up something delicious for you. I know it will be great and you will enjoy it. Pray now and watch God again act as He has done in the past.

Happy new year to you all.

Call me if I can help you do anything.

Verse of the day

“For, “All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” And this is the word that was preached to you.” (1 Peter 1:24-25)  listen to chapter  (Read by Max McLean.
